Overview:
Friends of the Ruidosa Church is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of the Catholic church in Ruidosa, Texas. El Corazon Sagrado de la Iglesia de Jesus (the Sacred Heart of the church of Jesus), began to fall into disrepair in the 1950s due to the town's declining population. Services soon ceased and by the early 2000s, its deterioration had become advanced. Through negotiations with the Catholic Diocese, the property was deeded to the Friends to allow for its restoration.
With such a rich cultural history and wild natural surroundings, our team defined a body of work that was equally visually layered. We took inspiration from the natural adobe arches present within Ruidosa and also incorporated color inspired by traditional catholic motifs.
For social posts it was important to retain a sense of physical texture despite the digital location so each piece was crafted to feel intentionally hand-made.
